FELIX MAYERHOFER, born in Port Chester, NY, had three
careers: A professional trombonist for 14 years, school band
director for 27 years, and since retirement, a children’s author.

He also served in the 552nd Air Force Band during
the Korean War.
Felix, author of the published children’s books, “Horace the Great,”
“Wobbly Bags a Thief,” “The Three Little Godfathers,” and “Guitar
Cowboy,” received his BS degree from the State University of
New York, Potsdam, and an MA degree from Azusa Pacific
University in Azusa, California. Felix also wrote a highly rated novel, "Diary of a Young Musician.


Final Days of the Big Band Era," about his years as a "road"
musician. He and his late wife Shirley, a former professional
dancer, have a son, David, a professional commercial photographer in Los Angeles.
